The Cusco city it self is one of Peru’s greatest treasures. Seat of the ancient Inca Empire, Cusco is home to many of the countries, most splendid examples of pre-colonial art and architecture. And many of its buildings rest upon Incan foundations. The area is also rich in Peru’s vibrant living heritage: the culture of the Quechua people, many of whom maintain essentially the same way of life they have known for thousands of year, where are located the most important tourist attractions, Cusco is mysterious, magic, world of the Incas.

B.

During the afternoon at 2:00 pm. We start to explore the Cusco city and the four archeological sites, located near the city, the tour will be in a tourist bus, you will see the legacy of the Inca throughout the city some buildings still rest upon ancient Incan foundations. We will explore the magnificent Sun Temple of Qoricancha, the cathedral a colonial monument on the main plaza. Lunch, Dinner is on your own. After to explore the city we will go to the north side of Cusco city and we will visit SACSAYHUAMAN Archeological Park, believed by most to have been a fortress, although it may have been a sacred sanctuary to the sun. Overlooking the city of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman is a testament to the skill of the Incan builders; it is constructed of huge stones, some weighing nearly 150 tons each. TAMBOMACHAY, the Incan Temple of the Sacred Waters, just outside Cusco. A marvel of hydraulic engineering and impressively, the waters still flow today. Q´ÈNQO might very well have been a site of ritual ceremonies performed in fertility rites and solstice and equinox celebrations. PUCA PUCARA has nice view of the surrounding countryside, this might have been storage facility or lodge or perhaps a guard post on the Inca Trail to Antisuyo one of the Incan regions. B.
Morning bus ride to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a long the way stop at the weaving center to see the textile making process and then to Pisac archeological site with its agricultural terraces rising up to the mythic complex, later we will walking tour of colonial Pisaq. Traditional market only Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
This afternoon we will visit the and explore the splendid Ollantaytambo archeological site we will walk amid the remains of this ancient Incan fortress, made of gray and rose granite and complete with temples and baths. B, L.
We take an exciting journey by train along the Urubamba Gorge to Machu Picchu, the legendary “Lost City of the Incas,” you will enjoy the spectacular scenery along the way. Machu Picchu was “discovered” by Hiram Bingham in 19ll, also Machu Picchu remained inaccessible until the 1940s, when the Inca Trail was found by an archaeological expedition. Here we will see the remnants of the temple of the sun, temple of the condor, ritual baths, palaces, main fountain, sacred plaza, the sundial or Intihuatana. Etc. Over night in Machupicchu Town. B.L.
You can explore independently, or choose one of the several hikes of varying degrees of difficulty. The shortest and easiest is the one hour go and forth hike the trail to Inca Bridge, the long and moderate class hike for three hour go and forth is the Inca Trail to the Gate of the Sun or well know as INTIPUNKU, from where you can have the spectacular panoramic ways to see Macho Picchu. Another one the challenge class, is to climb the HUAYNA PICCHU Mountain about three hour or more, with narrow steps up hill but nice and the most spectacular view of Machu Picchu. Another one almost the same in time but not view of Machu Picchu is the TEMPLE OF THE MOON almost half way to climb Huayna Picchu the trail dips down into the cloud forest and then climbs again and perched above the Vilcanota River. It is a strangely mysterious place of caverns thrones and an altar.
In the afternoon train back to Cusco. B, Dinner Show.
Early morning flight back to Lima, Our Lima representative transfers to the hotel for day room. Day free to explore Lima on your own, if you request optional tours we can assist you, visits to the Gold Museum; Larco Herrera Museum, or other notable points of interest.
